Chengdu, China

Last year visited Xi Ann, so this year decided to have 5 days 4 nights tour to Chengdu.  Chengdu is famous for Panda Santuary and Mt Emei Shan.   We took Air Asia as it is a direct flight to Chengdu, we does not want to waste time transiting at Guangzhou.

Day 01 Kuala Lumpur – Chengdu                                                           
Upon arrive Chengdu, meet and great by local representative. Transfer to visit Zhuge Liang Memorial Temple. Zhuge Liang’s courtesy name Kongming, was a chancellor of the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. He is recognised as the greatest and most accomplished strategist of his era, and has been compared to another great ancient Chinese strategist, Sun Tzu. 


Then, proceed to visit Jinli Old Street. Jinli Street was the most famous place for baldachin - a rich, ornate cloth. And it was one of the busiest commercial areas during the Shu Kingdom (221-263). Hence, it is known as 'First Street of the Shu Kingdom'. 

We were hungry after arriving to Chengdu, therefore we visited Jinli to try their local snacks. Among all the food, the grill meat and squid where you add your own chili powder can be edible. Others are cold or too oily or sweet.

Day 02  Chengdu / Leshan / Emeishan                    
After breakfast, transfer to visit Huanglongxi Ancient Town which with a history of more than 1,700 years. It is situated in Shuangliu County 30 kilometers southeast from Chengdu, Huanglongxi Ancient Town is greatly admired by visitors for its beautiful natural scenery and ancient Chinese culture.

Then, enjoy cruise to Leshan Big Buddha, The Buddha is located to the east of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, at the confluence of three rivers, namely, Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River. The statue makes itself the most renowned scenic spot in that city. In December, 1996, the location of the Buddha was included by UNESCO on the list of the World Heritage sites.  

Also this is the location where Storm Rider, one of the Hong Kong movie was shot here. If you wish to walk up to the Buddha, it will take you 3 hours. Therefore is better to take the cruise to view entire buddha.

Day 03  Emeishan/Chengdu                                        
Visit Emeishan Scenic Area (include cable car to Jinding), Mt. Emei is located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It is towering, beautiful, old and mysterious. It is like a huge green screen standing in the southwest of the Chengdu Plain. Looking its winding and beautiful figure, you will find that it resembles very much an eyebrow of a girl. It is the highest one among all the famous sight-seeing mountains in China. 

Emeishan is really beautiful but we took one and half hour bus ride to each the Emeishan base. We need to walk up the stairs approximate 45 minutes. For people who has issue walking, I recommend you purchase the bamboo sticks at the bus station to assist you in walking.  Then we will reach the cable car station, the cable car can accomodate 100 people.   The view are amazing once you reach the top.  There are temples where you can start to pray and do your offerings.

Day 04  Chengdu                                                      
In the morning, visit Panda Base and Panda Museum in the scenic. This is the biggest Panda Santuary in China.

After lunch, visit Jin Sha Museum, It is a rare site museum among Chinese museums because of its combination of modern civilization and the civilization of ancient Shu State (Sichuan Province was called Shu State in ancient times), as well as the combination of ecological environment and culture. 

The location of Jin Sha Museum is the actual archaeology location, all artifacts are found 3,000 years ago. 










Visit Kuan Zhai Alley. Kuanzhai Alley is the name of a pedestrian area that has been created by renovating Qing Dynasty Hutongs (courtyard houses most famous in Beijing) and making them into shops, cafes, bars and hotels.

All their restaurants and cafe's has their own unique concept. 





DAY 05 Chengdu                                             
After breakfast, proceed to visit Wangjianglou Park, Wangjiang Pavilion Park is located in a lush bamboo forest by the Jiangjiang River out of the Eastern Gate. It has an area of 177 acres with most of them covered by bamboos. It was built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties to commemorate Xuetao, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty.
